How To Get There

Journey to the islands takes about 30 to 45 minutes by speed boat and one and half hours by slow boat. There are a number of boat operators in Kuala Besut offering boat services to Perhentian Island. The return boat ticket cost RM 60.00 per person for speed boat and RM40.00 per person for slow boat.

By Flight

Fly with Malaysia Airline, Air Asia or Fireflyz from Kuala Lumpur to either Kuala Terengganu or Kota Bharu (45minutes). After arrive at the airport, take either a bus or taxi to Kuala Besut jetty. The journey will be take about 1½ hours from Kuala Terengganu airport / 1hours from Kota Bharu airport.

From Singapore :
There is no direct flight to Kuala Terengganu/Kota Bahru from Singapore. Travellers must fly via KLIA. If flying via KLIA from Singapore too costly, consider flying from Senai Airport in Johor with Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia, This is cheaper option but takes much longer time due to land transfer from Singapore to Senai. Malaysia Airlines passengers can catch the SPS coach from Singapore to Senai which departs from:

Operating hours : 05:15am to 18:15pm daily
Fare: S$12 from Singapore, RM16 from Senai. Travelling time is about 2 hours. 

Air Asia will start a bus service soon from Singapore to Senai. Currently, the passengers will have to get to Senai airport by bus via Larkin to Senai.

By Train
Express trains from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur terminate at Tumpat. Recommended stations are Wakaf Bahru or Tanah Merah where taxis are easily available. For further information, please contact yours nearest KTM Berhad counter or e-mail at passenger@ktmb.com.my for ticket booking.

By Land

We can help you to purchase your return bus ticket only when we receive your payment.  You may board a night coach which depart from Kuala Lumpur (8 hours), Singapore (9.5 hours), Johor Bharu (9 hours), Penang (8 hours), etc. and arrive Kuala Terengganu Tanjung Bus Terminal around 6.00am the next morning, Ping Anchorage's driver will meet you once you arrive and transfer you to Jetty, then by boat to island / lake.

Note for our guest from Singapore:
Transnasional Express (Lavender Street/Kallang Bahru Junction Tel : 02-2947034 / 5) and Damai Ria Express (Beach Road) with daily coaches to Kuala Terengganu. If you are unable to get any seats, you can try Transnasional coach which depart from Singapore to Kota Bahru and ask to drop off at Kuala Terengganu, alternatively get a seat from Johor Bharu (Larkin Station) to Kuala Terengganu.

Car Park available at Merang Jetty (Redang Island/Lang Tengah Island), Marang Jetty (Kapas Island), Kuala Besut Jetty (Perhentian Island), Gawi Jetty (Kenyir Lake) and Kenyir Dam (Kenyir Houseboat). Approximate RM5.00 per car per night.
